Landers Chevrolet Hit Hard
The Norman Police Department was called to Landers Chevrolet located at 1221 Ed Noble Parkway just after 8 a.m. Monday in reference to a larceny of vehicle rims and tires. Upon arrival, officers located approximately 40 vehicles with their rims and tires removed. All of the vehicles were sitting on wooden blocks. It is estimated that 160 rims and tires were taken from the dealership. The initial investigation revealed that a group of unknown suspects likely entered the dealership by cutting the lock on the gate. The suspects then cut the lights to dealership’s parking lot to conceal their movements. The group targeted Chevrolet Trucks, Chevrolet Suburbans, and Chevrolet Cameros. It is believed that the theft occurred sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning. No suspect descriptions are available at this time. Investigators later determined that similar thefts have occurred in Tyler, Texas and Houston, Texas. The incident remains under investigation by NPD’s Criminal Investigations Division.
