Mark Schlachtenhaufen The Edmond Sun Residents have reported an additional seven home burglaries to the Edmond Police Department the day after an equal number occurred, according to city records. Police spokeswoman Jenny Monroe said a detective is investigating the new incidents reported during the day on Tuesday. Monroe said similarities in them lead the agency to believe they are connected. Tuesday’s reported burglaries occurred in different areas including near the Covell-Coltrane intersection and south of 15th Street along Santa Fe. According to city records, they were reported at: 9:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of Asheforde Oaks Boulevard, located near the Covell-Coltrane intersection. The incident was listed as first-degree burglary; 5:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Jupiter Road, located near the 15th Street-Kelly intersection. The incident was listed as a first-degree burglary In progress; 4:58 p.m. in the 1200 block of W. Gemini Road, located near the 15th Street-Kelly intersection. The incident was listed as a residential burglary; 4:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of Taurus Drive, located near the 15th Street-Kelly intersection. The incident was listed as a residential burglary; 3:31 p.m. in the 1000 block of Taurus Drive. The incident was listed as a residential burglary; 3:36 p.m. in the 2000 block of Tracys Terrace, located south of 15th Street along Santa Fe. The incident was listed as a residential burglary; and 2:55 p.m. in the 800 block of Lakeside Circle near the Edmond Road-Santa Fe intersection. The incident was listed as a residential burglary. According to the Edmond Police Department, the Monday incidents occurred on: Lost Rock Trail, located east of Washington Irving Elementary; Park Place, located near Fink Park. Monroe said $200 in change was reported stolen; South Trail Ridge Road, located east of Washington Irving Elementary; Bradford Place, located near the Danforth-Santa Fe intersection. Monroe said nothing is known stolen at this time; Mary Lee Lane, located near Memorial High School. Monroe said in this incident the resident was home, heard footsteps upstairs, called 911 and left home with her 2-year-old son. Nothing is known stolen at this time; A second home was hit on Mary Lee Lane. Monroe said nothing was known stolen at this time; and East Drive, located near Memorial High School. Monroe said $300 in change was reported stolen out of a bucket in the home. In connection with Monday’s incidents, Monroe said the suspect was described as a 16- 19-year-old black male who was wearing gym shorts, a white T-shirt and driving an older model white sedan.
