Police: Suspect Also Attempted To Kidnap Man
Seen on koco.com: Police are looking for a man they said stole more than $20,000 worth of gold coins and tried to kidnap a man. The first incident happened Feb. 8 at Brown's Coin and Stamp Shop in the 500 block of SW 29th Street. Officers said the suspect was looking at a sheet of gold coins, dated from 1907 to 1930. Police said the man ran out of the store with the coins and didn't pay for them. The store's owner said he tried to chase the man down, but he got away in a red sports car. The second incident happened at the Old Paris Flee Market on Feb. 26. Officers said the suspect met with a man to sell him some gold coins. When the man got into the suspect's vehicle, also a red sports car, officers said the suspect attempted to drive away. Officers said the man had to jump from the moving car and suffered cuts and scratches.
